#036 – Contrast

Taken from the shoot in Sandal Beat Woods, Doncaster. I love the contrast between man and nature. The tree has been growing there for many years, quite happy, minding its own business, humming its little tree folk tunes. Quite happy with its place in the world. Then man comes along and the tree has to hum a different tune.

Actually I know what I am trying to say, but it’s just not coming out right. The contrast between nature, and man’s idea of what nature should be like.

  1. This is very nicely composed, with the main tree framed within the confines of the fence. the gradations of grey are lovely. Finding the right contrast must have been a bit of a challenge, but I think you’ve done it. The muted tones of the trees in the background are very pleasing to the eye.

  2. This is super-cool. Composition and contrast (literal and implied) are very enjoyable. I love how the fog creates a backdrop that takes the focus off of everything else except the fence, and the trees directly behind it. It stresses your point.
